Joana
Bartis was born and lives in Barcelona. She studied Art and History
in Barcelona and Paris. She specializes in paintings on silk, as well
as hand painted scarves.
Her paintings can be seen in the lobbies and public spaces in many
of Spain's important hotels (NHotels Company). Numerous companies
in Spain use her works of art as the quality corporate gifts and
she exhibited a large panel in a theatre affiliated with the Barcelona
Olympics. Like her paintings, her scarves are unique pieces painted in
collections of themed series. They are cultural themes including
"Constructivisme", "Gaud?, "Gothic Mosaics", Romanesque figures",
"Guggenheim", "Art Deco", "The Fifties," etc.
Joana Bartis is currently working on hand-painted pieces in a series of
"Georgia OŽKeefeŽs "Flowers" and "Western". She is also creating
prototypes of exciting new works, combining serigraphy and hand
painting based on cultural Spanish themes, for museum shops. Ms
Bartis has spent a great deal of time travelling abroad and
studying the relationship between cultures and textiles. This experience is reflected in her work.
